Mooncup FAQ
-The Mooncup is even more discreet than a tampon. It sits completely
inside the body with no visible string.
-Brilliant value for money - tampons and pads cost thousands over a
lifetime, far more than the Mooncup which is a small one-off purchase.
-Some people have reported that using a Mooncup has eased their previously
painful periods.
-The mooncup contains no fibres, absorbent gels or dyes that can
irritate the lining of the vagina.
-You can change the mooncup less frequently than you would normally change
a tampon. Most tampons should be changed every 4-6 hours, while the mooncup can be left in for up to 10
hrs. You can even leave a Mooncup in overnight.
-Mooncups do not alter the natural moisture or climate of your
vagina. Tampons (especially if they’re a size too big for your level of flow) can dry you out by absorbing up
to 30% of your natural vaginal lubrication.
-Using a Mooncup eliminates the risk of toxic shock syndrome. TSS is
a very rare but potentially fatal illness which has been associated with high absorbency tampons.
-Some governments see tampons and pads as so-called ‘luxury items’ and
subject them to consumer tax. By not having to buy tampons or pads you are not having to pay this
ridiculous tax.
-You only need one Mooncup so there is no need to carry spare supplies of
tampons or pads. Much easier for going out or travelling.
-The Mooncup can cope with very heavy flow without leaking.
-By using a Mooncup you are not contributing to companies who sell
‘feminine hygiene products’. These companies have vested interests in making sure women keep buying throwaway
tampons and pads which are terrible for the environment, not to mention aging plumbing systems !
